Pardon the off-topic, but I've had an idea the past couple weeks of wanting to have a program that simulates (or, rather, emulates) Analog; reel-to-reel recording. Seems silly, I know. But with the price of tape now, it seems a nostalgic novelty recording software that could also be used as a serious means of home recording would be totally awesome and rather desirable. I've hunted around for software of this ilk but have found nary a thing, with the closest being RetroPlayer, an app that replicates a turntable (which I gotta admit was totally awesome and fun to use.)
I don't have the foggiest as to how to write software or apps, but I've laid out an outline of what this software could be. It's just an idea at the moment.
So, this is where I need someone who knows how to write software, or even more specifically - audio recording software. I've gotten a little tired of Pro Tools, and our old reel-to-reel in our studio is going a little downhill, not to mention being a whole 'nother amalgam of things to learn. If anyone here has any interest in discussing this and possibly working with me on this, that'd be totally rad.
Shoot me an email if you have any idea how to do this, or know someone who does.
Thanks,
Quinn
