Four-star DE recruit Gabe King of North Carolina is no longer of North Carolina, it seems. Today he was introduced as a new student of South Eugene High - also known as the school I go to and the alma mater of JConant. Word got around school rather quickly, and I ended up sneaking a peek in at him as he was sitting and talking to coaches in the kitchen room. The guy is huge. I thought it was Frantz Dorsainvil at first. Evidently he will actually play receiver at South. I'll be at the game tonight that he is supposedly suiting up at - I won't hold my breath though. I texted Dom and Jared while I was at school and Dominic arose the point that he wouldn't move out to Eugene if he wasn't going to be a Duck.
More after the jump.
[Ed Note - dvieira]: If true, it sure would seem weird for him to move to Eugene and then NOT commit to Oregon
[Ed Note - jtlight]: First, I don't believe this to be a done deal. Yes, King is in town for the Utah game. But King was ineligible to play this season in NC for some reason, and was looking to transfer out of state to play. It looks like South Eugene may be that school, though from what I'm hearing, this is not a 100% done deal. That family apparently wanted to keep this quiet for a bit. For this reason, and until we have something a bit more concrete, I'm moving this from the front page.
Unfortunately, even if King goes to South Eugene, it does not mean he will be attending Oregon. At this point, he is still a Cal lean. However, having him in Eugene for the next few months certainly has its advantages.
[Ed Note - dvieira]: Confirmation by Rob Moseley here. Props to Quinn for breaking the story on ATQ. Agree with Jared that he isn't a commit to Oregon but this is still quite the development. Unprecedented perhaps?
And here we are after the jump. This is awesome.
