LaMichael James vs. Jacquizz Rodgers?
This comparison came up between my Beaver friend and I the other day. He thought it wasn't even close and Rodgers was waay better. But he's a bit ignorant, so I asked a level-headed fan, and he thought they were really close, as did I.
James is more explosive, and faster. Rodgers is quicker and better at running between the tackles. Rodgers' longest run last year was just 33 yards, while James already has two longer runs this year. Rodgers doesn't have many big runs, just lots of solid ones. So far this year, James has 348 yards on 59 carries(5.9 average) while Rodgers has 427 yards on 78 carries(5.5 average). Also, James has faced the quality defenses of Cal and Utah, and one not-so-good defense in Purdue, while Rodgers has faced Cincinnati, Arizona, Portland State, and UNLV.
What do you think?

The inevitable and commonly explored question...
James or Rodgers, I would rather have LaMichael on my team
Formerly, thats a no-go.
I apologize for my ignorant and blatant lack of refinement in terms of my cursage. I did not know much of this Tuel feller so I accidentally used another innocent mans picture. Believe me, IT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN!
Quizz is one thousand times more comparable to Remene Alston.
Comparing LaMichael to Quizz is apples to oranges.

Rb's don't need to have similar running styles
or body types or offensive schemes to be compared. At least not in terms of “who’s best.” Quizz has a pretty impressive season under his belt, including coming up big in an upset of ‘SC. So comparing him to Alston is a bit unfair to Quizz, in my opinion. That said, I’ll take LMJ and all the upsides he brings to the table, thank you very much. Besides, if Quizz was THAT good, UO would’ve recruited him and he’d be a Duck right now.

I fail to see what’s left to compare then…

I guess I always saw the Satyagraha as more of an old school time of possession offense.

what is wrong with asking what is better?
apples or oranges?

I'm just so freaking tired of the parallels people are trying to draw between LaMichael James and Quizz.
There’s a reason why nobody ever was asking, “Who would you rather have, Blount or Quizz?” We all know exactly why James and Quizz were chosen for the comparisons, and it’s way hackneyed.

I voted for him
I think he is the better back, but LMJ is in a perfect situation and will put up great numbers. At this point cant we both just be happy we have some great backs that happen to be short as shit
Best game in Autzen??

Disagree
Their both small backs who rely on their speed and agility rather then brute strength. Usually backs fall into three categories thunder, lighting or Jonathan Stewart status. While their not carbon copies i don’t at all think it’s apples to oranges.
Boo you Mike Stoops! Boo you!
Quizz relies on speed and agility, and not his strength or ability to fall forward?
I’m going to politely disagree.

Yes I agree with that
But in my opinon it’s his speed and agility that makes him dangerous, not his ability to fall.
Boo you Mike Stoops! Boo you!
To each his own I guess.

It's close
But you have to go with Quizz.

I'd rather have James. Jaquizz would be buried on the depth chart behind James and Jahvid Best.
And he’d lose a year of eligibility by transferring. Or am I taking this way too literally?

Lou Holtz thinks you are thinking about this just right
Dosen’t Quizz already play for Oregon?

I noticed on Saturday that Quiz was getting some good yards on short passes which would stat wise count as rushes..
Rodgers doesn’t have a great top speed. He’s a shifty little bastard and a bull of a runner.
James has a much better top speed. He’s a shifty little bastard, and will make you look stupid as a defensive player.
Who would I rather have? I don’t know, but our OLine has had one good game, and until they take the field and block like a top talent group week-in, and week-out, I’d rather have James.

Uhhhh.
I have this uneasy feeling that JuJu may not fully appreciate this conversation.
Last time I checked, there is no "Hall of Average." - Oregon Football Coach Chip Kelly
If by some crazy chance Jacquizz were to transfer, you would not see me saying “bah! we don’t need him!”
I think having him would not only give the shortest running back stable in the country, but defenses would have no clue what to expect. I think him and LaMichael would complement each other well.

We’d have to change his name to LaQuizz

I like it, somebody get LaQuizz on the horn and make sure Barner knows his name is LaJohn.
And someone tell Holtz that Best is too large to play for us. We already sat LGB down for cripes sake.

Two words (important in football and life): Ball Protection
Each are going to bring something a little different, but Quizz protects the rock. How many fumbles has James had already this year? I mean, I absolutely love him, but that’s a glaring weakness in his game. Quizz seems to have an iron death grip on the ball at all times.
Quizz is the rare back who doesn’t cause fans to hold their breath in fear of a fumble when running through the open field. With overall skill being comparable, you have to go with the guy who doesn’t turn the ball over. However, I do expect James to improve greatly in this area, see Gribsy last year.
"Estos tíos están locos"- Rudy Fernandez
Great point,
I failed to see that, and that definitely is extremely important.
