PrintWhile being behind at the half is never a good thing, after the way the first quarter played out, I'm pretty happy with being down by only 6 points. The defense, after a shaky start, has held OSU to 3 field goals, and is playing with a lot of energy. The offense has shown flashes, but Jeremiah Masoli is having a rough game. Kenjon Barner has been outstanding, and has been the spark plug for the offense.
We're halfway through. Time for the Ducks to come out strong in the second half.

I’m pretty disappointed with Andre Crenshaw having two penalties on one play.. And the penalty differential has been ridiculous.

Nutty, molasses flavor, sweet but with a nice edge, great head, good mouthfeel.

That came out wrong
I mean, hit him really hard on the open field. Rose Bowl Jitters = inability to think, type, or breathe.
It seems like replacing Gildon with Harris helped out a lot.

Masoli's feet are really really happy
seems like it’s affecting his accuracy. That laser he zipped to Maehl for the conversion was by far his best pass and it was also the one where he got his feet set best.

I don’t get that field goal play. You need a TD just as much as you need a FG, and it’s at 45- yards, which is already pushing the limit of Flint. I think we have an easier time getting 1 yard than a 45 yard FG.

this game reminds me SO SO MUCH of the 2005 USC-Texas game. How many times did USC appear to have Vince bottled up on 3rd down and he squirted loose to make huge plays? Even if it wasn’t the same total yardage, it was the same effect on the game.

I don't understand the defense critiques.
We stopped the run. We knew that Pryor would have to beat us, and he did. He made some fantastic plays.
The defense kept the team in the game for the whole 2nd and 3rd quarters. OSU has run 85 plays and counting. Oregon has run 53.

If you had told me the offense would have 17 points, I would have thought the Ducks would lose big time.
And considering how good the special teams were for Oregon, the offense’s struggles were very disappointing.
They had good field position for almost the entire game. And they only managed 15 points. We couldn’t pass for anything. I’m very disappointed with how our offense played. Just very poor execution.

It's the ABILITY to pass
There are games Oregon plays and don’t have to pass, but when they need to pass to win . . that has been suspect at times, especially today.
Losing LMJ really hurt us. He was just starting to get going, and the threat of him and Barner had been very productive in the 2nd half. Ugh. There were flashes. OSU made some good defensive plays, and the Ducks didn’t execute consistently.
So freaking frustrating.

It was the fumble out of the end zone on the exchange to Blount that really killed us, though.

That completely killed the momentum. We were about to score TDs on two straight drives, and had brutalized the OSU defense. That was it, right there.

Could go on and on. Missed oppurtunites lost the game.

The offense starts and ends with Masoli
He couldn’t make the plays. The Ohio St. D-line took him out of the comfort zone and forced him to stay in the pocket. Masoli couldn’t get outside the box all night. Credit the Ohio St defense.

Fu**ing Juju was just on their side.
We were boned from all of the penalties and ridiculous completions on third and long. WE just couldn’t catch a break.

I absolutely love Thomas. Before this game I remarked I would rather have him than Pryor(it’s still pretty close).
But, I still love Masoli, and think he gives us our best chance. However, I’d love to see some Thomas reverse deep passes, like the 2008 Civil War!
