I sure hope that the team that played against UW shows up tonight!

Also, if the Oregon State team that played Seattle were to show up tonight, I would be happy as well.

A combination of the two might lead the Ducks to a false sense of confidence. But it sure would be fun (fondly recalls Pac-10 tournament title game against USC…).

UW is on quite a skid now. I’m starting to wonder if any team is going to step up and create some credibility for the Pac-10. I’m curious what the lowest number of Pac-10 entrants into an NCAA tourney has been since the 64-team format began. Maybe I’ll look it up after the game.

I think if Washington can get to the 20 win mark, even if they don’t win the Pac tourney they’ll still have a good shot of getting in

Coming into the game, turnovers and unforced errors were the MO of Oregon State. Thankfully they have shot so poorly from the field because they would be killing us if they were capitalizing on these TO’s. Oregon has 7 turnovers to just 1 for Oregon State and we’ve got tons of time left in the 1st half.

To be only down 7 after the half we had is a blessing. We are under 30% from the field, under 15% from beyond the arc and had 7 turnovers. If we are shooting anywhere near our average, we’re destroying them. The opportunities are there to be had and you saw Oregon at the end of the half figuring some things out on how to attack the zone, not so much with passing but dribble penetration.

Oregon needs to take much better care of the basketball and make sure to rebound on both sides of the court to get back in the game

To add to this

Oregon needs to stay in the zone in the 2nd half. OSU is not a good long range shooting team and is not on tonight. They are killing Oregon inside.

On the other end, if OSU doesn’t get the steal they are letting Oregon into the lane and Oregon can score inside on OSU. Continue to drive to the basket get fouls and feed the bigs

Jacob, Dunigan, Williams and Wilson are playing well right now. Porter is off and Armstud looks lost against the press

Yes

If you stay in the zone, it takes away alot of the passing lanes their offense creates and forces them to shoot, which they don’t do well.

I’m not going to blame this on the coach. But our O looked like garbage out there tonight. Sure a couple of times we drove and kicked, or drove and finished. But majority of the time it was contest jumper after contested jumper. Where is the offense we have seen growing over the last 5 weeks? What was that?

Its kind of different when your hometown has a team

I think the NFL and NBA are boring because all the teams do pretty much the same thing, just to varying quality. I don’t really like the NBA all that much, but am a huge Blazer fan just because I grew up in a big time NBA state. I watch most Blazer games, but never watch a non-Blazer NBA game because its boring without the rooting interest.

I can watch just about anything college. And love me some MLB. I can watch that even if my Mariners aren’t playiing.

OT Riley is going nowheres

Says Ted Miller:

It appears that Oregon State coach Mike Riley has taken himself out of the hunt to be USC’s next coach.

Riley and the school agreed to a three-year contract extension that runs through the 2019 season.

"Due to the fact there is a lot of speculation on my future, I want to make it known that I’m very excited to be coaching at Oregon State University and I anticipate doing so for a long time," Riley said in a statement from the American Football Coaches Association convention in Orlando, Fla.
