ESPNU 150 running back Marcus Lattimore (Duncan, S.C./James F. Byrnes) is down to two schools.
"It's down to South Carolina and Auburn," he said. "I informed the coaches at Penn State and Oregon tonight."

We’re still in great shape at that position with LMJ and Barner being only sophomores, and we also have Alston for some depth. Dontae Williams will be a fantastic power back from this class. If we can pull out Seastrunk as well, it will just be groovy.

Not surprised at all about this.
We already have a great power back in this class in Dontae Williams, and I like his speed a little better than Lattimore’s anyways.

I just like his top end speed a little better.
Lattimore was great at running through traffic inside, but he lacked an explosive gear once he was in the secondary.
Dontae Williams also earns a few more kudos from me because he actually committed to UO :) That tends to be a factor in my personal grading system.

He would have been the feature back at Penn St. next season after Royster moves on.
South Carolina is an awful offense for a runningback to be a part of. They are plain terrible at rushing (and passing, and blocking).
Auburn could be a good fit, but he will surely have to split carries with a few other guys for his whole carer.

Never thought we’d get him. Wish he would have taken a visit at least though. Maybe he heard positive rumors of Seastrunk committing.
I really don’t think that Seastrunk had anything to do with it. With players at this level, Competition is something to be excited about (just look at Florida, USC, Texas, etc.).

I don’t think Seastrunk did, that was more my hope that Seastrunk is coming. But I do think playing time has something to do with recruits choices. When you have LMJ, Barner, Williams signed on and possibly Seastrunk, its going to deter a recruit when they can go play somewhere else with a less crowded backfield. I think the deterrence is limited to a couple positions like QB and RB.
What? Seastrunk isn't announcing till the 27th.
