Lattimore with a nice carry down the middle.

HIs running style really is reminding me of LeGarrette Blount. Apparently is a very good receiver out of the backfield too.

I’d give us a 50/50 shot with Seastrunk (maybe higher with Carroll leaving USC), and 33% with Lattimore, just cause his family isn’t visiting. So we got decent chance to get at least one.

It was a good looking "O"

well i dont know about finger overlap

there is no overlap in my technique personally.

I Don't Yell O I SCREAM!

by trumpetduck on Jan 9, 2010 9:09 PM PST up reply actions

Speaking for myself

I have big hands and long fingers, so when I use the fingertip technique my “O” looks a little like a misshapen egg. So I overlap to about my first knuckles, which produces a much better looking “O.”
Now I am not saying that my technique is or should be universal, simply that people need to recognize the need to make their “O” look like an “O” and not and egg or diamond, and that may require a couple minutes in front of a mirror to find which works best for your hands. Which of course was my point, he cared enough to actually work on something as seemingly inconsequential as the “O” and it looked good, like he knew what he was doing. Good job Dior.

by QuackinAK on Jan 10, 2010 4:09 PM PST up reply actions

This brings up an important need.

Everyone needs to ask someone to take a picture of themselves doing the “O”, then post it here.

Can you imagine replacing, say, Chip Kelly with Rich Brooks?

Because that’s pretty much what TT has just done.

It’s not that Tommy Tube is a bad coach. It’s just a 180 degree turn on philosophy. He’s not exactly known as an coaching savant.

Plus, Tube is one of the worst interviews in CFB. (Hmm, maybe that’s what they were looking for..)

The downside of USC football probation:

We’ll have to suffer one or two years of the media reporting the Pac-10 as “having a down year.”
Mark my words here: USC on probation is NOT a positive event for Oregon or the Pac-10.
We don’t need them to be disqualified before the fact. We need them to be perceived as a top level team when we beat them.
Knock off a team on probation, and the fact that they are on probation is the story everywhere but here.

Don't care

If we go back to a major bowl next year and win (whether Rose or national title) the Pac will get respect.

I get your point, but.. like it or not, USC is the canary in the Pac-10 coal mine

for example: I appreciate a Husky-Free NW as much as anyone, but we don’t get much credit for bitch-slapping the whelps every season, because UW has become irrelevant.

I do NOT want USC to revert to their level in the Hackett years.

I have no problem with media dis-respect.

Been living with it for many years now anyways. Not to mention the Pac-10 played much better in bowls when we were not considered a top conference in 2008. This season, people gave us credit and we suck it up in bowls. Oh well…

Without either a playoff or meaningful regular games between conferences..

all we have to compare “the best of the best” is bowl results.

And the bowl matchups aren’t always made with the interest of impartial observers in mind. Usually the opposite, in fact.

It’s not actual “proof”, but absent any other metric, you go with the conf record in bowls. Which works great when you’re 5-0. When you go 2-5, suddenly, bowl results are overrated.
