Apparently there is alot of complacency in the Ducks camp regarding this week's game against BYE. I admit that I have no real knowledge of this school or their team. But I am a firm believer that every week is tough in the Pac 10. I am not sure how BYE snuck in to the Pac 10 (would that make it the PAC-11? Well I guess it is like the Big 10/11) Wait, with Utah and Colorado next year would it be the PAC-13?...but I digress. If you doubt that BYE is not a member of the PAC-10 just check the schedules of all the schools in the PAC-10. In the PAC-10 every school plays every other school and they all play BYE every year.
Now I know the Ducks record is great against BYE. In fact, I looked it up and they have never lost against BYE. Even during "The Suffering". But that is just the kind of situation that will set the Ducks up for a loss. I would like to think that Chip Kelly is not overlooking BYE since he has done a masterful job of keeping the team focussed. But I have not heard Chip say ONE thing about BYE this week. Not even the usual "Well they are better than their record indicates". Thus PANIC is justified. Is Chip looking beyond BYE to UCLA? Evidence is that he is talking about UCLA already as their next game.
Please tell me that my PANIC and FEAR are unjustified. I am sitting here beside myself in hopes of some words of hope.
