Why am I so CALM right now?

Frankly, why am I calm every time the Ducks face adversity on the field, whether it's 21-3 against Stanford, 13-3 against Tennessee or any other time? Nothing has fazed me this year like it has in the past, no matter the situation.

Tonight, I came to the realization that I have 100% total confidence in this 2010 Oregon team; that they will execute, perform and stomp on the throats of every foe they face.

I've never had this sort of confidence in anything before in any facet of life. Every week I sit down to watch these guys play football, at Autzen or on TV (or at 35,000 feet, but that's another story) and I have zero doubt that we will walk away the victors.

What could possibly have caused this? How can one not care what's going on during a game and 100% believe that it's all going to come out ok? I think there are three factors that contribute to my placid nirvana every Saturday, and will address them below.

1. Our quarterback doesn't screw up very much: Darron Thomas is the most complete quarterback I've seen at Oregon since Joey Harrington. He doesn't have the consistency that Joey possessed, nor the unbreakable savvy and control on the field, but the man has a gun for an arm, and is smarter with the ball week in and week out than Masoli ever was.

2. Our coaching staff is one of the best at half-time adjustments in the country: Here's a stat for you: That touchdown given up by Cliff Harris in the fourth quarter of the Arizona game was the FIRST TOUCHDOWN GIVEN UP BY THE FIRST-STRING DEFENSE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER THIS SEASON. THIS @&*%#&# SEASON!!! Doesn't convince you of the awesomeness of the coaching staff's adjustment skills? How about this: @JustinDYoung: Score is 34-3 Ducks since halftime. That's been a regular theme this year, We've outscored our second half opponents by one of the biggest margins in NCAA history. A lot of that has to do with defenses getting tired, but our defensive staff simply doesn't let teams sustain their first half momentum.

3. Depth, Depth, Depth. Need I say more? Doubt it, our team is freaking deep.

We simply are too deep, talented and together mentally to give OSU the satisfaction of an upset, and it'll be an upset if we lose our bowl game. Please raise your hand if you thought that we'd ever see that day as Duck fans?  Now put it down and stop lying. Assholes.
