Quack Fix: Redemption, A Different Kind of Signing Day, and a Hall of Fame Inductee
Someone has to die in order that the rest of us should value quack more.
- The stunts and gymnastics team placed second with a score of 234.44 at the National Competitive Stunts and Tumbling Association meet, just getting beat out by Maryland. Full scores and some photos are available at the link above
- Speaking of placing second, the men's golf team got off to a great start finishing 2nd at the Mauna Lani Invitational with a score of 5-over par, just two shots back from Stanford.
- While everyone was focused on football signing day, the track team got some big names too.
- The word of the day is redemption for the Oregon men's basketball team as they head up to Corvallis today. Make sure to check back with us starting at 2pm for coverage of the game and an open thread.
- Former Oregon basketball star Kenya Wilkins was named to the Pac-10 Conference Hall of Fame.
- Accuscore has done some simulations of the men's basketball Civil War game today and the results are in.
- Amanda Johnson from the women's basketball team was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 team. To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3, be a starter or significant reserve, and a sophmore or higher
Make sure to check out the final Civil War game at Mac Court when the Lady Ducks take on the Beavers at 5:30pm. Plenty of time to catch both games. If you have any additional quack, you know the drill. Go Ducks!

Rob Mosely Discusses chip Kelly’s contract and of course it is loaded with incentive bonuses, my faborite is this one.
$25,000 for beating Oregon State
He barely missed out on $100k for finishing in the top 10, so he had to settle for 25k for 11-25 final ranking (darn).
I saw that about missing out on the top-10 bonus.
Bummer for him. I doubt he cares much though.

I have a Ropert is God™ complex.
It was an interesting article.
Although, the clause about him being able to walk away from his contract (if not, he gets a big bonus) if he wins 10 games or more this season is a little scary though.
LaMichael James + Kenjon Barner + Lache Seastrunk + Dontae Williams + Josh Huff + Keanon Lowe + Remene Alston +...
Where's he going to go?
How many jobs are an upgrade over Oregon? Maybe five or six really elite jobs are truly an upgrade.

Well,
Never know whats going to happen, a spot at one of those programs could open up for whatever reason. Of course Coach Kelly seems very committed to UO, but who knows.

Redemption. Hmm.
I always thought “redemption” was something you did with Green Stamps. So, I Googled it.
Which of these definitions most closely approximates today’s performance in Cowtown? (I’m leaning towards #10.)
1. (theology) the act of delivering from sin or saving from evil
2. repayment of the principal amount of a debt or security at or before maturity (as when a corporation repurchases its own stock)

6. the first novel by author, historian and former Trotskyist Tariq Ali, an apostate satire of the inability of Trotskyists to handle the downfall of the Eastern bloc.
7. a single released by Gackt on January 25,2006. Its A-side and B-side are featured on the soundtrack of the Square Enix game ’’. Gackt also played a character (Genesis) which appears briefly during an optional ending of the game.
8. a term used by white Southerners to refer to the reversion of the South to conservative Democratic Party rule after the period of Reconstruction (1865-1877), which followed the American Civil War.
9. a 1999 novel written by Jewish writer Howard Fast who wrote Spartacus in the 1950s. Redemption is both a romance and legal drama …

11. title of the Season 6 premiere of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1. Airing on June 7 and June 14, 2002, it was the first all-new SG-1 episode to be broadcast by SCI FI, the new home of SG-1 after the series’ move from Showtime.
everything is history, eventually.
It appears some of the greatest music talent in history has explored this subject.
GRITS, Gackt, Vomitory, and the eponymous Redemption.
I need to add some more Gackt to my music library, I have ignored them for far too long.
