Visiting Locker Rooms Of The Pac-10
I ran across this entry on Ben Malcolm's The Ripsit Blog while surfing the internets for random photos of Autzen.
Below the jump are some samples from this interesting look at what our boys have to put up with around the conference (excepting at USC -- anyone have pics or opinions of their visitors digs?).
The ranking sort of parallels what you'd expect.. the Rose Bowl is on top, Cal's Memorial Coliseum on the bottom.

Oregon's visitors locker room is ranked 4th out of 9 -- it doesn't look that comfortable to me, but I like the idea of "notoriously cold showers." It seems pretty clear the visiting locker room, in the bowels of the stadium proper, hasn't changed much since 1967 (and back in the day, the *home* locker room wasn't much bigger than this).

By comparison, UCLA's opponents have an environment that's downright palatial. Which makes sense, since the stadium is designed for a neutral-site game, and it wouldn't be very nice to give the Big 10 team a locker room that looked like.. well, like this one:

The lockers at my grade school were more spacious. No wonder we haven't won down there since 2001.
Frankly, though, maybe our friends in Corvallis have the right idea. I'm not sure I really want our visitors locker room to be "comfortable and accommodating". Hell, I'd paint the damn place pink if I thought it would make a difference.

I'm actually seen the pink locker room
Its not a bad place other than the whole paint thing.

For the HS band competition that Oregon hosts at Autzen every year, we used to have access to the visitor locker room to store our stuff and change. Nobody wanted to because it was a dingy piece of crap, and the Stadium Club bathroom was roomier.

And at least Cal's locker room has an advertisement hung up on the wall.
If the visiting locker room is not the place for product placement, I’m just not sure what is.
Wait, football season is HOW long away?
I asked a coworker who played for UCLA
He says that WSU has the worst locker rooms in the Pac-10 saying they’re old, small and crappy
In case you were curious
USC’s visitors lockers rooms are pretty bad. They were deliberately designed by Al Davis in ’91 when the Raiders played there to be uncomfortable with no room for the visting team to gather together.
