A recent Register-Guard article detailed how the amount of revenues given to the University of Oregon from the State came out to only NINE percent of the total revenues at Oregon!  It was quite a surprise to me, and begins to make one wonder just how much of a state-supported university we really are.  With a measly amount like that given….how much are we really beholden to the State?

Is the investigation of MBs 2 mill payout justified?  What about state hiring regulations concerning coaches?  How much impact SHOULD the state have when they contribute so little, or perhaps the real question is, “what are we?”  Are we a state supported institution or a private one?  Where is the delineation, and at what contribution level?
