Quack Fix: Baseball headed to Connecticut, golf looks to bring home national title
Having your power go out in the morning really can really mess up your day, and delay the quack.
- After a stellar second season for the Oregon baseball team, the Ducks are headed to the NCAA postseason, and are headed to Norwich, Connecticut to take on Florida State, Connecticut, and Central Connecticut state in the NCAA regionals, where the Ducks will be the No. 3 seed in the 4-team bracket. And while the Ducks will try to do some damage in the tournament, the fact that the Ducks even made the postseason is a testament to their hard work since the end of the end of last season.
- While we all want the Ducks to do well next weekend, it's also a time to reflect on the teams achievement this year. The Ducks improved in every aspect of the game, and are doing what no one thought possible when the season began.
- There are a lot of videos out of team reaction. OregonLive has some interviews with George Horton and Eddie Rodriguez, as well as the scene of the team watch party. GoDucks.TV has a number of uncut interviews with players and coaches, including Horton, Scott McGough, and athletic trainer Tom Embree.
- It's been a big spring for Oregon sports, and Oregon golf looks to carry that on today, as they head into the NCAA championships as the top-seeded team. Oregon is a young team, but made nationals last year, which gives them experience as well. The Ducks are prepared, and after bringing home the first regional title in school history, will look to add a national title as well.
- Bob Rickert wishes a fond farewell to Kenny Payne, who he predicts will be a head coach in no time. Payne did a great job for Oregon, and Bob's sentiment's echo most Duck fans.
There's more than enough quack to go around, so leave any other news below. GO DUCKS!

Half the wheels, twice the alibi.
Travon Patterson is under the impression that he gets to catch a football in a game against Oregon. Travon Patterson is stupid for thinking that. Do you hear me Travon Patterson? YOU ARE STUPID.
They call him Rags. Where he goes, no-hitters follow.

You went to USC to go pro?
Looks like you’re still empty handed.
I feel like I should say something smart.

Some good stats from Jake over at Building the Dam.
Looks like Oregon and OSU are in a really good position to move forward, at least statistically. Both ended up in very favorable regionals, and have the best chances of any 3-seeds to advance, and both have better chances than most 2-seeds.

A Pac-10 Chancellors and Presidents will be meeting this weekend, and Cal’s Chancellor is expecting some significant changes.

Pac-10 network please
Not because I’d watch it so much as it would lift all our programs.

Our future QB is really really fast.
While I don’t typically put a lot of faith in 40 times reported, these happened at a combine, with multiple watches and runs. He’s definitely got legit speed.

It’s good to know that he has a really good burst, that should help him escape the pocket. But I would be happy to see him add 15 pounds even if it slows his 40 time as a result.

The combine results (which they usually measure there, though it didn’t list) had him at 190, a large improvement from his previous weight.

No. 3 seed with best chance to reach supers: Oregon
Don’t underestimate the chances of George Horton leading the Ducks into the super regionals in the program’s second year since reinstatement. They rank fifth in the nation with a 3.28 ERA entering regional play, and neither Florida State nor Connecticut have had much of an opportunity to defend West Coast baseball this season. The Norwich Regional has no clear-cut favorite, so Oregon’s pitching staff puts it in a strong position to advance.
