It looks like Cliff is in the dog house.
I’m not worried about Solis starting one game if it lets him Maldonado get his RS.
I feel like I should say something smart.
I literally did not see Solis make one kick over the course of the practices I attended.
While Maldonado looked pretty unimpressive, Solis was the one kicker everyone was going “Has he ever even kicked the ball before in his life?”
Real puzzler…
My yoke is heavy.
Hopefully the longest he’ll have to make is from 19 yards out, right in front of the goat posts.

Costa goes for two every other TD and we're even
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
He shanked an extra point during the scrimmage day if I remember.

They want to red-shirt Maldonado if they can...Beard'll be back for game two.

But just think how cool it would be to be Solis
Walk-on to a great team and get to start the first game. Maybe just because of circumstances, yes… but gets on the field just the same. May never see the field again, but getting to kick at a real game at Autzen- priceless.
Then again, he may have a leg like a horse and keeps everyone on the bench… who knows.

oh he has a leg like a horse all right
save for the strong and accurate part. Either that or he’s been holding waaaaaaay back in camp

If we have to settle for FG’s and rely on Solis vs NM, there is a bigger problem there than his accuracy.
I feel like I should say something smart.
Why not Jackson Rice is my question
i’m pretty sure he could drop kick an XP (which is legal in both the nfl and NCAA

Process thought, say out loud, think about it for a bit, say it out loud again, think about the ramifications of what you type that might be had, type, proof read, read out loud, preview post, repeat steps and post.

Ok, I guess this shows he can kick like a horse.

He is a goofy footer.
Maybe the holder needs reps… Costa has had some other things on his mind and holding for a walk-on kicker was probably way down the list (or not on the list).

After watching that, I can think of very few things more exciting than a kicker highlight video.

Yes. How can he call himself a balla if he doesn’t infuse his highlight video with gangsta rap?
Average Score Since 2004: Oregon 42 Washington 17
Well, he’s a kicker.

He did hit a field goal from the 40 lard line,
And apparently caused a ruckus in doing so.
Self-anointed President of the Kenjon Barner fan club.
At first, I thought this was a Charlie Weis joke since CaDuck said “lard line”.

mebbe that should be on Urbandictionary
lard line: What Charlie Weis tried to get to at Notre Dame before Clausen threw a pick.

I debated that
but It’s not his inferred two deep, it’s the one that was released by the athletic department/football team. I got it from his blog since it was the first place i thought of to get it, so I linked it since his own observations are there too.

So…I guess Beard is going to be the placekicker starting @ Tennessee?
I don’t understand this Cliff Harris situation. He’s our most talented corner (arguably).

I’m really starting to become concerned that Cliff Harris may be turning into a Jamere Holland type.
But seriously, wtf is with our kicking situation?

Surely Beard starts after his one game suspension…surely.

Well then lets us hope you are correct.
On a funny note, we could just always go for it inside the opponent’s 35 instead of ever kicking a FG. You know, I think I like the sound of that.

If any coach in America would have the balls to do that….it would probably be Chip Kelly.

Precisely.
It would be a hell of a lot more fun to watch too. So sick of kicking on 4th and 2 when we have LMJ or Barner or Maehl or anyone else on the damn offense.
by Heaven's Calamity on Aug 28, 2010 4:57 PM PDT up reply actions
i could see it early
but i dont think its nice to go for it on 4th and 3 at NM’s 30 when we’re up 30.

Very good point sir.
That’s the only time we’re letting him kick, up by 30 at the 30 or closer.
by Heaven's Calamity on Aug 28, 2010 5:07 PM PDT up reply actions
seriously, he not only missed an XP
he shanked the sucker.

Like no one has ever shanked an XP in practice before. Relax.

Like Quinn said
we never saw him actually make a FG.

I’ll take Chip Kelly’s decision over axemen23’s.

nah TJ3 is the best all-around corner
Gildon is maybe equal to Harris, since he was the only one able to somewhat shut down Maehl at all during camp. That being said, Harris is surely in trouble for something, and it isn’t legal since I’m sure Bachman or someone would have been all over that with a bloodhound.

I don’t understand this Cliff Harris situation. He’s our most talented corner (arguably).
The way I see it, we wouldn’t be missing out at all if Harris ended up burning out and not being able to get his on-field attitude straight. If he’s going to punk out (which I’m not saying he will, but his behavior so far has indicated a lack of effort), it could be addition by subtraction. I wouldn’t like to see it happen to a guy who’s showed so much promise, but if there are kids around who are much more deserving to play, they will step up and take it into their own hands.
My yoke is heavy.
harris should redshirt
he should have redshirted last year but then the injuries hit. If the coaching staff can convince him that he will be a better player redshirting with out hi wanting to transfer then redshirt him.

Not a bad call or
we’re not going to show UT’s defense all that we’ve got?
