Thomas on Fairley

Darron Thomas is absolutely correct about Nick Fairley being a dirty player and its a great move for the Ducks.

It seems like the only "controversial" news coming out of Arizona right now is about Thomas calling out Fairley. It is a great move on Thomas' part for several reasons.

1. As Ted Miller pointed out Fairley does not need anymore motivation for this game. If he is not already hyped up for this game then he should not be out there. Thomas does not need to worry about Fairley trying any harder to rip his head off cause he is already going to be out there trying to do just that.

2. It opens this issue up and brings it to the front of the media. While I follow the Ducks and college football religiously I was not up to date on Fairley being a dirty player. Now I am. As soon as I read the article on ESPN i youtubed clips on Fairley and sure enough there are some plays that I would consider to be dirty and dangerous. Thomas' comments bring the issue to the forefront and hopefully the NCAA and the refs will be a little more aware of Fairley and his extracurricular activities. Ted Miller is writing about it so hopefully people will start to pay more attention to the issue.

I think that Fairley is a great player and I'm not trying to take away anything from him as a player. That guy knows how to disrupt the backfield and causes havoc, but i hope that the refs keep the game clean.

Here are links to a couple of youtube clips about Fairley.
