It all started with the life wishing of HoodRiverDuck. He wanted a Joseph Ducreux Wheaton Wave to make his life complete. And on the First of November, 2011, on the Tuesday of Happy I Hate washington Week. He posted his idea for the Ducreux Wheaton Wave, henceforth known as the Ducreaton Wave, along with the first picture accompanying it, and history was made.

The following day, the Jackson Wave and the The-Force-Is-Strong-With-Wheaton Wave were created. This guide also covers those. So whenever you need a pick-me-up, just bookmark this page.

Now, some of you may be asking yourself, who is Joseph Ducreux? (I was before I searched the Interwebz) If you recognize this internet meme...

... you know who Joseph Ducreux is.

 

Ducreux was a French Painter who lived in the 18th Century, and this painting is a self portrait of him that has gone on to be an internet meme, depicting popular culture in the 18th Century vernacular.

Now... on to the Ducreaton Wave with credit going to HoodRiverDuck, Benzduck, JShufelt, Quack Addict and myself.

Jerry Allen's call starts off with:

Now, the socially accepted Wheaton Wave is still Jerry Allen's Call, but when you see a traditional Wheaton Wave (and there will be many this week) I encourage you to start a Ducreaton Wave below it, ensuring the point gets across and generating a few laughs. I also encourage you to view the Biblical Wheaton Wave, which was the precursor to the Ducreaton Wave.
