It should be obvious, but the casual fan is in denial...

Thanks for the fun facts on OSU upsets. Strange how so many fans talk as if this is some kind of close rivalry. Honestly, it has rarely been a rivalry, and for everything during the week and during the game it played out to form. Nice to beat the Beavers, but was a boringly good win.

I don’t want to hear anymore about this CW being a rivalry until the game is a legitimate matchup once again.

Beg to differ. It has rarely been competitive, but it will always be a rivalry.

If oac’s 27 year losing season streak didn’t take the rivalry out of it nothing will.

I understand that youre coming into this as a late arrival Duck fan, and don’t expect you to get it.

Been a fan for almost 30 years...

I don’t mind your critical assumptions, even though you’ve shanked a few of your kicks Maldonado style.

This past week many other local pundits have also questioned whether this is still a rivalry. To many it is, and to many it is not. It will differ from year to year, as it always has. It’s true that the CW will also remain so meaningful to some people no matter the stakes or lack thereof.

Being a fan comes in different degrees and with a variety of perspectives, which is what I love about sports and those who follow with their own kinds of involvement. I appreciate those who can be passionate but still not myopic to their own fandom.

I’ve also liked many of your comments and posts. Your voice is who you are, and I can appreciate that. Thanks and keep up the good conversations.
