PrintWord coming from multiple sources that Oregon St. Beavers freshman defensive tackle Fred Thompson died this evening of a heart attack at the Dixon Rec Center. This is a tragedy for our community. Our hearts go out to all of Beaver Nation, the families and friends of Fred Thompson and all those affected by this loss.
Update: The Rec Center isn't releasing any information at this time regarding the circumstances surrounding the situation. I would expect that Comcast's Brandon Sprague and Oregon Live's Paul Buker will be providing updates as they come in

Buker’s reporting that he was playing basketball when it happen.
As a side note, Buker also mentioned that he’s from Richmond, the same town that Terrance Kelly was from, and where he was killed.
