February 9 passed without any apparent observation of perhaps the most significant anniversary in the history of Oregon athletics...
On February 9, 2007, Mike Bellotti introduced Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator, replacing Gary Crowton.
The news was somewhat overshadowed a week later, when UO prexy Dave Frohnmayer named Pat Kilkenny as the new athletic director.
I'm going to propose to my state representative, whoever he/she/it is, that instead of making vacuous proclamations about the 2010 team, they bring to the floor a proposal to designate each February 9 as Chip Day. Think of the possibilities for celebrations, parties, etc.
Happy Chip Day!
