Doyel Article Reeks of Partisan Politics
While Gregg admits he doesn't know the truth of the Oregon investigation, he says Kelly MUST be fired, regardless of what that eventual truth may be. That's a bit of an over-handed statement, even by bald faced standards, don't you think?
Then it dawned on me. Gregg Doyel is a UF grad. His father is a professor at Ole Miss, and he works for CBS which just happens to be both the news outlet which published this Spanish Inquisition and the network which happens to carry the very lucrative SEC Football Contract.... hmmmmm.
Quiz time:
Q: Which two states has Oregon been poaching players from in the Kelly era?
A: Texas and Florida.
Q: Which four teams have been the largest threat to SEC hegemony in the BCS era?
A: Ohio St, Oklahoma, Texas, and most recently, you guessed it, Oregon.
hmmm, wonder why is he out for blood?

Gotta say, Cpass, I respectfully disagree.
The first thing seems like a reach to me, since we’ve got all of one player from the state of Florida on our roster right now. If you count surrounding areas, I think all we’ve got is one from North Carolina and one from Alabama. We’ve got 5 from Texas, sure, and I know we’ve ruffled some Texan feathers with our recruiting inroads there, but I can’t recall anything that argued we were pulling the same on Florida.
As for the second thing… in terms of non-SEC BCS contenders, I don’t think our one loss in the MNCG qualifies us as a “threat to SEC hegemony”. Even if it does, I don’t know that we and our 0-1 MNCG record belong in the same breath as Texas (1-1), Ohio State (1-2), or Oklahoma (1-3).
It seems to me that you’re looking for an SEC conspiracy here, when I think the far simpler answer is the correct one: Doyel wrote an inflammatory, attention-grabby, click-mongering article. I just don’t think it’s any more interesting of a reason than that.

Whoops — I did forget about Tacoi Sumler (the WR recruit from Florida) when I was counting, but I’ll stand by my point.

Vanilla Sky was a stellar flick.
Welcome to the working week. I know it don't thrill you, I hope it don't kill you.
Totally agree. One of the few Tom Cruise movies I can stomach, and I liked it a lot.
Many people, however, disagree. Or will hipster you with the fact that Abre Los Ojos was the superior film.
Now with mustache guarantee!

Abre Los Ojos was the same film, it just predates it.

"You should listen to me! Remember when I was right that other time?"
This sounds like standard-ssue columnist drivel. Meanwhile, he’s not mentionining the 12 other times (over-exaggerated guess) he wrote something that didn’t end up happening or was later found out not to be true.
As much as I’d like to believe his narcissism is related to his having attended an SEC school, it doesn’t. The truth is, people don’t need a reason to be an egotistical jerk. Even if they do have a reason, they certainly wouldn’t care if their reason that made sense to anyone else.
