Happy Independence Day from ATQ
From our families to yours, wishing you a safe and happy Independence Day. If you have a moment, please take some time out of your busy schedule today to reflect on what today means for all our soldiers fighting for our freedoms around the world. Yes, it's a day to celebrate, but also to remember those that have paid the ultimate price to secure our spot in this small little world.
Do you have any stories you wish to share from past Independence Day celebrations? Throw them in the comments.

Autzen Stadium is where great teams go to die." - J. Brady McCullough, The Michigan Daily.
Is there a "no Lyles discussion" policy
on a 4th of July thread? If so, then ignore, but I have a question. Why are people suggesting that Kelly is all of the sudden worthy of a different reputation? Even Mandel is saying that Kelly may no longer be held in esteem. If the compliance department approves certain recruiting tactics, why is it Kelly’s fault? If I have a member of my team that I hired to take care of a particular area, then I trust them to do their job accordingly. If they fail, we fail as a team but still I hardly think that means that I am all of the sudden an SOB.
Here is the other issue… If you have a coach who changes a culture, holds his players accountable for poor behavior, wins the day, engages the community in a myriad of charitable ways, refunds a fans ticket, hosts a support the troop event, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera… how can “operating in a compliance approved gray area” suddenly wash away all that? Sorry, but people in Kelly’s corner have much more to stand on about him being a fantastic coach and person than the haters over there.

Independence Day is the best holiday of the year.
It has good whether, you bbq, drink beer, get together with friends and family and then blow shit up. There is nothing better. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money of worthless gifts, there’s no giving away mounds of sugar that rot your teeth and make your kids hyper. You don’t have to spend all day slaving away cooking just so that after you’re done eating all you want to do is take a nap. No pagan rituals or dates stolen from other religions.
You just wake up late, get the grill fired up, maybe make a run to the swimming pool, play some games outdoors, then drink beer, wait for the sun to go down and then celebrate the independence of our country and the creation of our freedoms by blowing up illegal fireworks we bought from people whose independence we stole.

Happy 4th everybody, and if it makes you feel better..
the front page of ESPN says not a single word about the crisis du jour, and even the ESPN CFB page only has a one-liner link in a sidebar. There hasn’t been a single word written in the NYTimes on the subject.
So don’t obsess about this. Maybe it becomes a big story someday, maybe not.
Enjoy your summer. Meanwhile, let the losers and wannabes of the college football world enjoy their offseason “victory”. They’ve earned it, after all.

I just got this info in an email about Auburn players...any comment?

I just got back from the White Sox – Royals game that ended with a walkoff balk.
America is awesome.
how anticlimactic
that sounds as bad as going to a soccer game that ends in a tie

Dont talk to me about boring soccer
I’m finally going to go to a pro soccer game (I’ve been to Baseball basketball football hockey tennis golf lacrosse…I’m the kid who does this on/for vacations) in Portland later this summer. If it ends 0-0, i’m sure it’ll ruin ghte sliver of soccer fun for me.
The "Bill Simmons" of ATQ
You will probably enjoy the game even if it ends nil nil.
As long as there is some action during the game a draw is still a good game. I will say the best soccer is still the games that can’t end in a draw and must go to shoot outs.
