ATQ Blogpoll: Week 2 is in the books, but the landscape doesn't change
Not a lot of change this week in the Blogpoll. LSU holds off Alabama this week. LSU is going to struggle offensively this season, but so far they have easily the top win of the season. Outside of that, a few teams moved a few spots with good wins or poor play. Oklahoma State moved up a few spots after demolishing Arizona. tOSU dropped after almost losing to Toledo.
And the big addition to this week's poll, Washington State comes in at #25! This may be the first time we've ever ranked them in our Blogpoll. Hopefully they'll deserve ranking again next week. Full poll after the jump.

Ok so both struggled in a game they shouldn't
But Auburn beat a much better team… hence, better resume. Resume poll.

I just can’t quite get past the Utah State “win” yet. There’s no excuse for needing an onside kick to get a victory against a WAC team in the opener. Yeah, tOSU struggled, but at least the pressure was on Toledo late.
I don’t know, I go back and forth on this…so, screw Auburn.

Disagree with ranking WSU based on those two wins. I know it is a resume poll, but part of that resume should include that they are historically terrible for several years
They have beaten 2 teams that any PAC11 (demoted OSU to the BigSky) team should beat. Yes, they put up a lot of points, but scoring against lesser opponents shouldn’t override multiple seasons of failure. WSU looks like they will not finish last in the PAC12 this year, but that hardly means they are a top 25 team.
Their schedule is so front loaded with easy games it is totally possible they start 4-1 and still don’t make a bowl.
part of that resume should include that they are historically terrible for several years
The Blogpoll philosophy is very clear that we are rankings teams on this years performance only. Will Washington State end up a top 25 team? Probably not. But that’s not what the poll is about.

If it is based on this year only than why is LSU #1?
Yes, they beat Oregon, but in order to say that that was the highest quality win so far you need to take Oregon’s previous year into account. If you go purely on resume LSU beat up on NW State and beat any old team from the weak PAC12.
Especially early in the season, you have to make assumptions of talent in order to judge how impressive a win is. This is an important human component to resume ranking. Otherwise – you might as well rank Wyoming #1.
In essence, the results from the previous years don’t matter, but a judgement call on returning talent does matter.
So far, WSU has beaten their opponents handily, like a good FBS team should – and that’s something not many teams have done this year.

I'm all for it
yes, they’ve beaten two bad teams, but they’ve completely beaten the piss out of them. They have a better resume that Ohio State or Wisconsin at this point.

Well, Oregon State is probably better than Idaho State. I mean, they are, aren’t they?
