Oregon Alumni in the NFL 2011 Season Week 3

Here are the Oregon Alumni NFL Week 3 stats. I have removed players that aren't on the active roster, meaning Injured reserves and cut players are off. I have also listed where a player is on the depth chart if they don't have stats of note.

Not listing cumulative season stats until probably half way through the season.

Dixon and Bair were inactive for week 3 (again) but are on the active roster.

As usual please feel free to add any insight into the stats if you watched a particular game.

Stats come from ESPN, unless otherwise noted.

New England Patriots

Patrick Chung- Surgery on his right hand last week, OUT- DNP

Miami Dolphins

Dante Rosario -no recorded stats, signed by the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 5th

New York Giants

Spencer Paysinger- no recorded stats, 3rd string RLB

Carolina Panthers

Jonathan Stewart- 10 Car, 59 Yards, long of 20, 3 Rec, 26 yards, long of 18, targeted 4 times.

Philadelphia Eagles

Casey Matthews- 3 TOT, 3 ST

Baltimore Ravens

Ed Dickson- 5 Rec, 51 yards, long of 19, targeted 9 times

Haloti Ngata- 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 TOT, 1 ST, 1 Sack, 1 Touchdown (~~I'm going to guess this was all in one play~~)

Pittsburgh Steelers

Dennis Dixon- 3rd week on inactive

Buffalo Bills

Jairus Byrd- 12 TOT, 8 ST, 2 PD

Chicago Bears

Nick Reed- no recorded stats, 3rd string LDE

Matt Toeaina- no recorded stats ,2nd string RDT

San Francisco 49ers

Adam Snyder -1 TOT, 1 ST, 2nd string Center (but playing backup tackle)

Will Tukuafu - no recorded stats

Justin Peelle- no recorded stats, signed with the 49ers on Sept 13th, listed as 3rd string TE

Was just a fumble recovery and a rumble for ~20 yards. Ray Lewis or another LB caused the sack-fumble. His sack came on another play.

It looks like the Giants didn’t score running the ball at all. Manning had 4 Passing TDs on the Eagles. Can anybody shed some light on if the LBs were at fault, it looks like Manning had longs of 74, 26, and 40 to his three receivers with TDs, from the box score it looks to me like the problem in the game was the coverage.

Yup

One of those pass TDs was due to Casey completely losing his man (the RB) in coverage. It looked rather bad.

Only full game I watched was Falcons-Eagles

Casey was 3 steps slow or getting blown up at the whole all game. I love Matthews but he needs a few more weeks at least to get his head on straight. He is obviously doing something right to be starting, but it’s not pretty yet.
