Rumors about continued Cliff Harris displine problems?
It's been rumored that there's been continued discipline problems with Cliff Harris during his suspension, curious if anyone has heard anything factual along these lines?
With the level of talent presented by Harris, proven after just year one, it's clear he'll be moving on to the NFL as soon as the opportunity presents itself. It's concerning that having players around who are individually focused with no long-term program intentions lead to more off the field issues.
While the off-the-field problems of Harris have been embarrasing to the program they don't necessarily lead to sanctions. What's more concerning about Harris's poor decision making is whether or not it will lead to worse actions like accepting money or goods in exchange for benefits.
The current NCAA system has no ability to issue fines or penalities against these players and the NFL turns a blind eye to drafting players with known off the field problems. Bottom line there's a now risk and big reward for Harris. If these discipline problems do exist, Oregon should cut its losses before they lead to a wake of damage far beyond Harris's departure.

Concerning Rumors
rumors until proven are hypotheticals

the NFL needs a "long arm statute"
And I think we finally took the first step with Pryor’s suspension. But, for this to have teeth it must extend to coaches as well lest we risk a multi-tiered system of disproportionate justice. As of now Goodell seems to be giving the sweater-vested sociopath a free pass and that’s a shame
Don't you think sociopath is a *wee* bit harsh?

glad the Colts suspended him
but then again they are a class act
and harsh? I dunno, I was going with catchy
An long-arm statue is stupid.
Pryor’s suspension and the suspension of Tressel were both stupid, as well.
Everything about this comment is very, very dumb.
The NFL has no business exacting another entity’s justice. To say that the NFL should be suspending players and whatnot for transgressions against NCAA rules (they already extend their reach too far by taking disciplinary action against players who have done no legal wrong) is truly blurring the line between amateur athletics and professional. In effect, when the NFL suspended Terrell Pryor, for still no stated reason, they have said he was an NFL athlete while at Ohio State, and anything he did wrong there in regard to NCAA rules is equivalent to him violating NFL rules.
Of course, the NCAA rule he violated was getting paid…so I’m confused where you find it reasonable for the NFL to be doing this.
Then again, you’re probably one of those types who thinks Mike Vick got off easy, James Harrison should be suspended for things he said about Goodell, etc., so there is no sense in trying to convince you of the asinine nature of the NFL as an organization.
You keep your tradition, I'll have my electric neon Tron PCP uniforms, thank you very much.

Another way to look at this is that the NFL has been using the college game as a “minor league” for decades now. Personally, I have no problem with the NCAA and NFL working together in this regard. The NFL cares about how their athletes are perceived and helping to close the obvious gap of “it doesn’t matter what I do because I’ll just go to the NFL” is an investment in their own game and the players that move on to that level.

Only the coaches and Cliff know what's going on
but if he’s a continued discipline problem even after the suspension, I would have no problem with Chip wishing him the best of luck with the academic year and kicking him off the team. I hope it doesn’t come to that, because Cliff is an electric player who has probably already cost himself in terms of draft position, but if he has no interest in meeting the behavioral standards set by the coaching staff, he shouldn’t be on the squad. Chip and the coaches are trying to build for the long haul – one more season of Cliff isn’t worth sacrificing the principles of that foundation.
Kevin Durant won me over when he went Rocky IV on Russia this summer.
Blount
As we saw with Blount, Chip isn’t going to put you in if you are not up to speed. Cliff has to earn his way (playing wise) back on the field.
I think Mitchell proved on Saturday that Cliff is ready to play right freaking now.
While I see your point, I don’t really think that is the issue here, whatsoever.
The issue is in Cliff’s “I-don’t-give-a-shit” attitude. It has nothing to do with his skills on the field at this point.

Is that the issue?
Or is that also a rumor?
