Glad to see a bunch were signed to practice squads
I looked at the cut list on the 3rd and it was duck devestation
scrappy
Insult to injury for this week.

Congrats to Bair, Paysinger, and Casey.
It’s so tough for a rookie to make a 53 man roster, especially undrafted ones like Paysinger and Bair. Kudos to them, and go Ducks!

I don't really follow the NFL.
Could somebody tell me the difference between waived and released?

If you place him on waivers, you still have some control over the player, i.e can add to practice squad.
As opposed to an outright release, which makes the player an immediate free agent. Young players will get waived, vets released, for the most part.

A waiver is essentially taking someone’s contract and letting another team take ownership of it. If nobody takes the offer, they become a free agent and can negotiate a new deal. You can also placed waived players on a practice squad or whatever.
A release is when you cut a player from the roster, and this usually requires a buyout of their contract – I believe it can also have a negative impact on the team’s salary cap (Either for that year, or the remainder of the player’s contract).
