Darron Thomas is turning pro
No, this is not a joke. I'm not kidding. Swear to god. Here's the statement from CK
“As in all cases, we educate our players with the information we feel will be beneficial to them throughout the process but ultimately, the decision is left up to the players,” Oregon Head Coach Chip Kelly said. “I will always support Darron in his decision and want to thank him for everything he has done for this program. He obviously has played a major role in elevating Oregon football to new heights and I wish him well in the future.”
Guess you guys who wanted the Bryan Bennett era to start will get your wish. Also, holy shit to that guy who called this in the morning. Guess someone's got mega sources we didn't know about...
Next year's depth chart: Bennett, Mariota, Rodrigues, X.

Hahahahaha!
This is so WTF that I can’t help but laugh.
I don’t mean to be an ass about it, but DT isn’t exactly pro-QB material just yet.
Winners of the Platypus trophy!
Javes Lewis just got one-upped.
Seriously, this changes a lot with next year’s offense. Especially since Bennett is a much truer passing QB.

Definitely,
He has a ridiculously strong arm. He just doesn’t really seem to know when to tone it down.
Winners of the Platypus trophy!
I wish him the best.
This doesn’t seem like the best move for him. I am confused.
Somewhere, somehow, a Duck is watching you.
Still amazed that the guy this morning called it
and we mocked him for it. Whoops.

Who / when was that?
I missed it. #oldpeoplesleepin
I've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to my life.
In the Kenjon's returning thread.
Jared had to clean up some personal attacks.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement from CK

WELL FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK!
Ducks stackin' wins like Leggos, toastin Pac-10 like the Eggos, like we're racin' against some preggos, Dan Patrick we enfuego. Free Schierholtz!!
Wow
Didn’t think this would be how the Thomas v. Bennett debate would be settled… A large part of me is hoping that this is just a way too early April Fool’s joke.
Best of luck to Darron if this is really what he wants to do. He WILL be missed.
I’m surprised he wasn’t doing the play-by-play in Spanish and playing the piano with the other hand while rescuing the guy, because that’s Mark. The guy’s incredible - Mark Helfrich
Wait... what?!
I know he’s a fifth-year senior, but neither Dixon nor Clemens left after their junior years either even though they were both fifth-year seniors too. Granted DT didn’t have the same horrible junior year Dixon/Clemens both had, but still…
I have no idea what is going through DT’s head right now. He has no chance of making an NFL roster. Stupid, stupid, STUPID!

I know Darron comes from a home where his mother had to work multiple jobs and he had to help out when he was in High school
So the prospect of earning a living probably came into it.
I hope he’ll succeed. But making it as a pro-passer is a tough gig.

Just wow
There has got to be more to this story. I’m eager to see you guys dig into it.
What are the odds he doesn’t get drafted? I’d have to think in the 50/50 range save a strong combine showing
Damn, my eyeball tastes good.

It's perplexing
Supposedly he told the team in the locker room after the Rose bowl that he was coming back.
Wonder if there’s something going on in his life. Hard to understand on strict football terms, unless he thinks the receivers are so much taller in the NfL that his overthrows won’t matter.
I've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to my life.
Could there be academic troubles?
I never heard a peep about the guy as far as pro prospects. And there didn’t seem to be any realistic speculation about him leaving…
I heard he either has graduated or is very close
I've been chosen as an extra in the movie adaptation of the sequel to my life.
I thought during the Spring/Summer preview show
Where they had him and Barkley on, they said that he already graduated and delayed walking with his classmates to go to the ESPN studio

Moseley seems to have hit on something
@DuckFootball 3m
Thomas might have looked at the landscape at the position for this year and decided it was now or never.
Lots of fluidity after the top 5 QBs

He won't get invited to the combine

Because no one Simpsons gif could sum up what just happened...
You just never see it coming. One day your starting QB is cooking you a nice Rose Bowl dinner, and the next, you’re thawing hotdogs in a gas station sink.

The initial reaction is absolute shock.

If you slow down the tape, you can pinpoint the exact second that my heart rips in half.

Then the despondency.

More despondency.

Casting about for someone to blame.

Trying to cope.

And then, as always…
