My testamony
Hey everyone. Long time reader. First time posting. First I want to say congrats to the Ducks for winning the 2012 Rose Bowl. It was an amazing season with an awesome ending. The point of this post however is to explain my fanhood. I will admit I have only been a fan since Chip has been the head coach. But I want you to know that I'm not a band wagon fan. I'm not a Johnny Come Lately(as it was put in a story I read somewhere...). Let me explain. My brother and I were very close growing up. Coming from a broken home and seeing my dad only every other weekend, I looked up to my brother. He is twelve years older than and took the role of man of the house way before he was supposed to. He did way more for me than was expected. I love and respect him so much. However, in highschool, he met his future wife and began spending more time with her, naturally. I then met my future wife and we kind of drifted. No big fights, no bad feelings, just going in different paths. Then one day he calls me up and asked if I would like to come watch the Ducks play Boise State. I was pretty excited but not thrilled. College football didn't do much for me at the time. But I watched and was not impressed. Oregon lost and was punching people in the face...Any way, he didn't invite me back to watch Oregon on t.v. He did however get tickets to the ASU game and asked if I wanted to go with him. Since that day I have been hooked. Not a week goes by that I don't look forward to going to my brothers house and watching the game. But not just for the exciting football that Oregon plays, but because my brother and I have rebuilt or relationship and have something to bond over. So thank you Oregon football. Thank you.

Rec'd, thank you for the story. I'm glad you and your brother have got it going on.
Things like that.
Thank you
I totally forgot to mention that ATQ is the first place I go to for info on the Ducks. All the mods and everyone that posts has made it that much better to be a Duck fan.

Great story
This flies in the face of all the people who say “unless you’ve been a fan since 19xx you’re not really a fan.” Thanks for sharing.

Word.
Glad you have reconnected man, and enjoy whatever the Ducks can add to that.
Santa Claus' #1 fan
As a visiting Husky, I have to say this is a very nice story.
It’s always good to be a fan of your own college team, and I hope you enjoy this for the rest of your life.
Best Wishes,
