Everyone on the team probably inhaled more glue fumes than they should have
We used to grind of the soles of our flats and glue on “granddad” soles like you would buy at a Payless drugstore. Slather on the contact cement and press on. The sandpaper coating they put on the first all weather track in ’69 would mean new soles every few weeks.
