Kenny Wheaton's interception return for a touchdown in 1994 against Washington is universally known among Oregon and college football fans as simply, "The Pick." This brought up an interesting question in my household tonight: What about other plays in Oregon history? The Run? The Fumble? I ask you, ATQ to fill out this form with your answers, and we may revisit this conversation in the dog days of summer.
The Pass: (My vote= Akili Smith to Pat Johnson in 1997 vs. Washington). Video link
The Run: (My vote= Lamichael James 2009 Civil War) Video link (start at 5:40 mark).
The "Trick Play:" (My Vote= 2000 Holiday Bowl Howry-To-Harrington). Video link
The Special Teams Touchdown: (My vote= 2001 Civil War Keenan Howry punt return). Video link
The Tackle/Defensive Stop: (My vote= The goal line stand @ Arizona in 1995). Video link
The Pick: Duh. Video link
The Fumble: This is a hard one. Ultimately, because we won the game, Wisconsin's late game fumble in the 2012 Rose Bowl over Casey Matthews' forcing Cam Newton to fumble the ball late in the 2011 NCG. Video link
The Kick: (My vote= Jared Siegel 2001 game winner over USC). Sorry Jared, Youtube doesn't like you.
Bonus Category–The Upset: Lots to pick from here, but I'm going with 2007 Michigan because it was the first time anyone had an inkling that Dennis Dixon was really, really good. Video link
