Oregon TE Pharaoh Brown Suspended For Role In Snowgate; Will Miss Alamobowl

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Snowgate simply won't go away, and we have reached the consequences stage of the fallout.

Those clamoring for retribution for the involvement of football players in Snowgate--a snowball fight gone bad that led to what some are calling an "assault" on a UO professor whose car was pelted with snoballs--are getting their wish. Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich wasted little time in doling out punishment for the incident, suspending TE Pharaoh Brown for the team's Dec. 20 Alamobowl matchup with Texas. Brown is seen on a video of the incident in an Oregon letterman jacket dumping a bucket of snow onto the professor's windshield as he attempts to drive down University street before being stopped by students.

The University has launched it's own investigation into the incident, and there is no word as to whether other students will face consequences from the University. The professor involved has elected not to seek charges.

Brown caught ten passes in nine games for Oregon this season. Johnny Mundt and Evan Baylis saw significant time at the position for the Ducks this season.
