The Ducks play a single game against familiar in state foe, the Portland Pilots. Christian Jones is likely to take the mound as the starter today and will go up against Kody Watts who has pitched once before gaining no decision and a 9.00 ERA The Pilots haven't had it easy, opening the season against Mississippi State. They dropped all four of those games by a combined score of 31-3.

Since the reinstatement of the program Oregon and Portland have split the meetings right down the middle 6-6. Watch 3B Jeff Melby for Portland. In 7 games this season, Melby has hit .391 and has only struck out once. Watts ERA is a bit deceptive, this early in the season allowing a run in the only inning he say any work.
