Questions about John Boyett from a Colts fan

Greetings Ducks fans. I'm visiting from the Colts SB nation blog Stampede Blue because I'm looking for some fan perspective on the team's sixth round pick John Boyett.

First off, do you think Boyett had the potential to be a productive starter in the league? I saw he had very good production in his Junior season and was curious how high he may have potentially gone had he not hurt his knees. How badly were his knees injured? Is the injury something that could cause him to miss time this season? Also, I saw he ran a 4.57 40 while still not fully recovered. I assume he would have timed faster if healthy. How fast does he play?

My impression is that he was drafted to backup Bethea and Landry and potentially become a starter next year when Bethea becomes a free agent. Some other posters on our blog have, I feel, have unfairly deemed him a player with extremely limited upside who will only be a gunner on special teams. I think the opposite is true. I see him as a playmaker whose injury dropped him from being a top safety prospect. What do you guys think his ceiling is in the NFL?

Thanks in advance for the info!
