It was about what we expected. Three Ducks (De'Anthony Thomas, Byron Marshall, and Marcus Mariota) finished with over 100 rushing yards, Josh Huff had 5 catches for 118, and Oregon rolled over Nicholls State, 66-3, at Autzen Stadium.
The Oregon offense looked really good in the first quarter, rolling out to a 31-3 lead with really crisp drives. There was a malaise in the mid-portion of the game, as the Ducks were really uninspired after the early margin. However, Oregon again started to pour it on late for the final margin.
We got what we wanted from the game: an easy, convincing win, no injuries, and a chance to work out some kinks. The Ducks now turn their attention to a cross-country trip to Charlottesville, Virginia to take on the Virginia Cavaliers. Here is the box score, and Jake Tabor will have a more exhaustive recap from the press box later tonight.
Enjoy the late games.
