Oregon's Greatest Games - WTF Second Round #1 vs #9

(1) Florida State - Rose Bowl 2015 [Oregon 59 - Florida State 20]

In retrospect, it's pretty fitting this game was the pinnacle of the Duck's ascent on the college football landscape. A first ever playoff game in the Rose Bowl. A place that had eluded a Duck victory for almost a century until about 3 years earlier. Playing an undefeated defending National Championship power from the state of Florida. This game had everything. The pregame gave us #NoleFanHere exhaustion. We learned about tight windows, and throwing guys open. Comparisons of rosters was like looking at a who's who of recruiting hotbeds vs a mishmash of speed and versatility led by the greatest Duck to ever put on a helmet. Everyone was expecting this to be the slugfest of the playoffs, and it was until the third quarter and a rash of Seminole turnovers finally led to this:

Then, if we're being honest with ourselves, it was over. I mean it could have gone both ways, but it was over.

(9) Tennessee 2010 - ESS EEE SEE [Oregon 48 - Tennessee 13]

You don't just walk into SEC country with flashy uniforms, a high tempo offense and expect to walk away a winner. That's exactly what the first half of the game looked like. Tennessee got things rolling by scoring two field goals in the first quarter, but a lightning delay sent both teams to the locker room for almost an hour. Oregon had to fight to tie it up at half 13 and that's what happened on a touchdown pass from Darron Thomas to David Paulson with 1:04 remining.

The second half was a different ball game. Oregon's defense shut out the Vols and Oregon's tempo on offense made Tennessee look slow. LaMichael James ran for 107 yards to finish with 134 including a 72 yard masterpiece to start the third quarter.
