BREAKING NEWS: EXCLUSIVE TRANSCRIPT OF INTERNAL UO INVESTIGATION INTO MARIJUANA USE BY FOOTBALL PLAYERS

Through trustworthy anonymous sources, I have come into possession of an official transcript of UO AD Rob Mullens's attempt to investigate allegations of marijuana use among football players at UO. The transcript is presented Sic. Documents have yet to be provided to the NCAA, but after the explosive allegations made therein, an official investigation will surely be imminent, and the matter will almost certainly complicate UO's current NCAA troubles. Transcript, after the jump:

Oregon Basketball Recruiting Chart

Hey Ducks,

I used to keep up a NC State Basketball Recruiting Chart over at PackPride (the NC State Scout boards) which combined all the links and ratings from Scout, ESPN, and Rivals. It got difficult to maintain by hand, so I automated the process, and threw a basic UI together and put it up on the web. I did the same for all the other schools while I was automating it. I threw in YouTube highlights and Twitter feeds for every ranked recruit that I could find, and added the depth chart at the recruits position for each of their offers.

I started cleaning up the rosters on the ACC teams first, and then moved on to the rest of the BCS conferences.

BTW, I haven't gotten to validating the active rosters for schools outside the BCS conferences yet, so that data will be inaccurate due to red-shirts, prep schools, junior colleges and transfers.

Obviously this info does not contain any of the great inside info that you get here at Addicted To Quack, as they'll have all the latest and greatest on Oregon Hoops, but it might make a nice compliment to the info you're getting here. It's more of a 10,000 foot view if that makes sense.

Anyway, here is the Oregon page and a couple of your recruits' profile pages, (you can navigate to other schools at the top, its a bit wonky, but it should work if you select the team then hit the "Go!" button).

Let me know if you see any corrections, or have any questions. Hope you enjoy!

Let's Talk about the Rose Bowl.

Dear Ducks,

It's been a while since we last talked. To be honest we're still a little upset about that Rose Bowl thing. Seriously, how are you guys that fast? What was Bielema smoking? Are you sure you don't want to let us throw the ball into the endzone one more time? Didn't think so. We had to ask. How about this?

2012 Oregon Rookie Cards

I've been following some Ebay auctions the last couple of days to see how the rookie-autograph cards of our most recent graduates have been selling. Cards I've been able to find have been: LaMichael James, Josh Kaddu, Darron Thomas, Cliff Harris, David Paulson, Lavasier Tuinei. Over the last 3 days, I've been keeping track of what the average price for each player's card was. Now, what do you think the order from highest average price to lowest is? Hint: LMJ is the highest.

Evaluating the Ducks in the NFL Draft - 2012 Edition

Last year I did a preview of the NFL Draft in relation to the Ducks that participated in the Oregon Pro Day. Let it be known that I would make a terrible NFL Scout (I know, contain your excitement). I predicted between 3 and 5 Ducks would be drafted. After three days of NFL draft extravaganza exactly 1 former Oregon player was drafted to the pro ranks.

However, the combined effects of the lockout, new salary cap, and larger practice squads meant the rookie free agency period was kind to some former Ducks. 9 signed some form of free agent contract. In total 4 of last year’s Oregon draft class ended their first NFL season on an active NFL (roster Mathews, Paysinger, Maehl, Bair). 2 more finished the season on Practice Squads (Davis, TJIII), and two were on CFL rosters (Rowe and Lewis).
No one went out and proved me wrong like Spencer Paysinger, though. I predicted he would be playing in the UFL. Instead, he was an active player on the Super Bowl Champion Giants.

Desspite of my lack of successful prognostication, I’ve decided to give it a shot once more with this year’s class. Oregon held its pro day on March 15 this year. In total 12 players participated. As with last year I’ll offer predictions for everyone, but focus my efforts on those most likely to make an NFL roster next year.

LaMichael James, RB
Perhaps you've heard of him? Since the confetti fell on the Rose Bowl, folks have been wondering what kind of NFL career LMJ will have. In that time, depending on who you ask, James has run the 40 in something between 4.21 and 5.63 seconds. But outside of the headline number, he's been very good in workouts. James brings speed, instincts, elusiveness, and fearlessness. Unfortunately, like so many of his Oregon teammates during the past 3 years he lacks "prototypical NFL size."
A solid combine and good pro day have cemented James’ athletic prowess. Since 3 running backs were selected in the top 5 picks in 2005, the number of teams selecting RBs high in the draft has declined significantly. But some team out there is going to want to add James to its running back by committee. And I think his talent gets him drafted in the mid 2nd to early 3rd rounds.
Possible drafting teams: Tampa Bay, Oakland, Cleveland

Men's Basketball Seniors Appreciation Thread

It was a tough loss to the Washington Huskies in the Quarterfinals of the NIT but this group of seniors wasn't defined by just one game. They grew together, made us laugh, cry, and provided magical moments as they played through a magical season that we all got to be apart of. Here are some cheers to a group of young men who gave us all their blood, sweat and tears in pursuit of their dreams in the green and yellow.

Please give your appreciation below to...

Choose My Own Adventure: A Rose Bowl Drinking Extravanganza

So my birthday was just a couple weeks ago, and my wife gave me the greatest gift a human could receive from another human. Not a trip to Hawaii, not a new car, not a little bundle of joy. It was... a DVD of the Rose Bowl.

The words... should have sent... a poet... via www.nmnathletics.com

My brother, also a born and raised Duck, is coming into town to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As you may know, it falls on a Saturday this year. I live in Chicago, a town which takes St. Pat's day pretty seriously. Things will be magnificent. By magnificent I mean I won't be able to sleep from all the drunks wandering outside my apartment alternating between yelling, punching, singing, and boning.

However, I want this time to be more magnificent. I, like most people with a drinking problem, enjoy a good drinking game. And what better way to celebrate with my brother than to indulge in a Rose Bowl Drinking Extravaganza! (Patent Pending).

This is where you come in, my gentle ATQ'ers. I leave it to you to choose our fate. Create for us, nay, for all the world, something which is worthy of being called the Rose Bowl Drinking Extravaganza! (Patent Pending). Leave your ideas in the comments section, and my brother and I will turn them into a memorable experience. A few words before you begin:

1) The Musberger game is in effect. Jtlight did a wonderful job on that, and I won't let it go to waste. Further announcer rules are encouraged.

Everytime he looks like this, you have to do a grain alcohol enema. via www.sportsgrid.com

2) I drink heavily, but don't try to cheap shot me. Drink every first down? Fine. Drink every snap? Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

That's pretty much it. I'll be sure to share the tale of this evening when all is said and done. Goodnight Rose Bowl Champions!

looking for video of 1988 game

I'm looking for video of a 1988 football game, UO vs Stanford. The date was September 24, 1988, a U of O home game very low scoring. It was broadcast locally, at least. Not sure if there was a national broadcast. If anybody has a copy, even if it's on a dusty old Beta cassette, I would love to borrow or buy it from you. Or, if anybody knows of a person who might have the video, I'd appreciate the tip. Thanks.

Oregon - Percentage Chance of Making March Madness Tourney

We've got Oregon as one of our first 4 out, but surging as of late. Right now they'd have a 4.75% chance of receiving an At Large bid. Beating Colorado and Utah to finish out the season could possibly increase that a little bit and let them sneak in (Without even considering the Pac 12 tourney). Check out our predictions over this next week and a half or so. We're usually over 95% correct, and have beaten Joe Lunardi 2 out of the past 3 years.

Pac 12 March Madness Predictions

Thanks!
