Oregon landed a much needed basketball commitment on Sunday evening when Dillon Brooks, a 4-star small forward from Toronto, Ontario announced the news via Twitter:
I've dreamt about this day! Blessed to announce that I have committed to the University of Oregon & will be a duck this up & coming season!

@dbrookz8 welcome to the family, homie. #Ducks

Brooks is a top-50 player in the class of 2015 but will be reclassified and play in the 2014-15 season for Dana Altman and the Ducks. A tremendous talent, Brooks led the FIBA Americas U18 tournament in scoring in June with 25.2 ppg. At 6'6, 190 lbs Brooks fills a need in Oregon's front court, which remains thin at the power forward and center positions.
Dillon Brooks will be slotted in our 2014 top 100. He had that good of a summer. This is a major late steal for Dana Altman.

Brooks joins 4* PG Ahmaad Rorie, 4* guard JaQuan Lyle, 4* JUCO center Michael Chandler, 3* JUCO SF Dwayne Benjamin, and 3* PG Casey Benson to form a very impressive and much needed recruiting class for Dana Altman. You can watch his highlight video below.
