And, we're off!
What a great time of year.

Games online
Also, the games can be watched online at www.ncaasports.com/mmod

CBS is really giving Dominguez
the superstar treatment.  PSU's trying to hang tough, but just doesn't have anywhere near the athletes of a KU.

I'm watching Georgia/Xavier
And MSU/Temple, though The Xavier game is interesting thus far.

Despite Georgia's run, I expected them to not do so well.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 9:52 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah, I'm not expecting much from UGA either
I see they're ahead, what does that game look like?

by Addicted to Quack on Mar 20, 2008 9:58 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yep
I have been expecting Georgia to lose the last three times they've stepped on the court.

And, my bracket is counting on it.  Xavier losing would hurt.

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 10:00 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

UGA jumped out to an early lead
Xavier is not overly impressive, but they are fighting hard, aren't aren't falling behind by much, so I think they'll pull it out.  And they just pulled within 1.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 10:00 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Man..
But Georgia will not go away.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 10:06 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

UGA with a 9 point lead at half
They had a nice run there.  Xavier cannot lose.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 10:10 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

If Xavier loses
a lot of brackets are in bad shape.

Kansas has hit eleventy jillion threes
I know that PSU isn't the best competition, but KU looks scary.  Just toying with the Vikings and hitting everything.

The Temple over MSU upset that many were predicting isn't looking so good right now.

by Addicted to Quack on Mar 20, 2008 10:13 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Temple
I didn't bite on that one.

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 10:23 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

nor did I
but a bunch of people did.  Meanwhile, UGA is keeping an 11 point lead.  Its a great story, but I find it hard to root for a 14 seed when the 14 seed is a major conference school.

Final Four?
Who do you guys like?  Until this morning I had three Pac-10 schools until I relented this morning and changed it to just two.  I am really rooting for a good showing by the conference.

My final four is UNC, Kansas, UCLA and Stanford.

Heh
I hadn't heard Obama's picks.

He won the Senate pool last year
So hopefully that luck continues.

That's a good a sign...
And, he likes to play hold'em.  What more could you want in a president?

Politics...
We should probably leave it at that.  Nothing starts a flame war on a blog like bringing up politics.  :-)

Hahaha
That is so true.

Gee whiz...
Georgia is hitting everything...

Xavier
Making a little run...

Site stats
Hey Dave, is there page that shows site statistics?  Such as unique page views and source links?  I know one of the other SBN sites has access to this.  It'd be interesting to see if the mention on ESPN drove up traffic at all.  Also, I'd be interested in seeing what the general traffic patters are.

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 11:01 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Ahh..
Thanks.  Some good stuff in there.

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 11:23 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

and it doesn't appear to have had much
of an effect on traffic.  We get around 400 hits/day normally, about 800 during football season.

Link
If only he had included a link in the blurb.  Some of the google searches that resulted in referrals are amusing.

Woot
Xavier now up 3!

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 11:06 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

No Longer!!!
Great defense to set up some points.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 11:06 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Xavier clamping down
I almost always root for the upset, regardless of bracket, but I'm not rooting for an SEC school against an A-10 school.

Georgia
Well, they had a remarkable run over the last week.  Looks like it might end here.

by ntrebon on Mar 20, 2008 11:16 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

And the Portland State game mercifully
comes to an end.  Lost by 24.  But a nice season, and will be the Big Sky favorites next year.

Now, I can watch the end of UGA/Xav

PSU
Ducks should PSU at the Rose Garden next season

by tdawg on Mar 20, 2008 11:32 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I agree
we should play them every year at the Rose Garden.

UO-PSU
If Portland State could become a Gonzaga/Utah State like team, a Duck-Viking rivalary would be interesting.  Could help SOS, RPI, and PDX media attention.

by tdawg on Mar 20, 2008 11:46 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Man...
These 2nd group of afternoon games couldn't be much less entertaining.

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 12:46 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

seriously
bunch of blowouts, 'cept KU/Marq,  and KU isn't exactly the kind of underdog you root for.

by Addicted to Quack on Mar 20, 2008 12:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah not so much
But, I did pick them, so I guess I want them to pull it out?

by jtlight on Mar 20, 2008 12:56 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

PSU & Vegas
I guess with the line at 23 the Vikings got a lot of play in Vegas and they had everyone on the edge right up to the end.  Shot goes in, many people score with the Viks, but not to be today.

Kansas looks scary. The speed they showed getting on guys when the Viks moved the ball quickly around the perimeter, there weren't many open looks. If they keep shooting 3's at a 50% clip, they will be tough to beat.
