This weekend, Galen Rupp set the American collegiate record in the 10K. His time of 27:33.48 beat the previous mark by just over five seconds. And, he smashed the UO record previously held by Bill McChesney, Jr. by a whopping 17 seconds. In winning the race, he just beat out Mexican Olympian David Galvan by half a second. A very impressive performance by Rupp. I have to admit that I am not that big of a track fan, but it is very nice to see the Ducks returning to national prominence in the distance events. Lananna has done a nice job, in that respect.
