For God's Sake, Yake That Picture Down

New, comment

I must apologize, as a surprise trip to the in-laws has left me unable to update the last few days (my Wazzou preview is sitting on my computer at home 7/8 of the way done).  However, I have readers begging me to do something so that they don't see that godawful picture when they check for site updates (sorry, it's not coming down, that thing needs to be archived for when people are googling Erin Andrews).  However, here's a bit of something for you guys to chew on:

We all know that Michael Vick's legal troubles mean he will not play for the Falcons this year (and possibly ever again).  This leaves Joey Harrington as the starter, where he will get his third try to lead an NFL team.  The backups are Chris Redman and DJ Shockley, so unless they make a move, Joey's the man.  (And Bill Musgrave is the QB coach, its Duck city over there).

What few people realize is that Joey actually had more passing yards and a better completion percentage last year than Vick did.  Of course, Joey doesn't have Vick's legs, but who does.  Where Joey has always struggled in the NFL is throwing too many interceptions.

Joey will have no excuses in Atlanta.  He's having a great training camp.  The offensive line is strong.  Warrick Dunn will be the best running back he's ever had.  He'll have Joe Horn and Brian Finnernan to throw the ball to (not stellar, but a solid group of WRs).

What do you think?  Is the third time the charm for Joey?  Can he be a successful starter with Atlanta?

GO DUCKS!!!
