ATQ Week 9 Pac-10 Power Poll and Blogpoll Ballot

Well, we're into the stretch run for the Pac-10 title. Oregon still has to play @Cal, @OSU, Arizona, and Stanford. OSU has Cal, ASU, @UCLA, @Arizona, and Oregon. Cal has Oregon, Stanford, @USC, and @OSU. Arizona has @WSU, @Oregon, Cal, and OSU. For the teams vying (at this point) for the Holiday Bowl or possibly more, it will not be an easy road. Arizona has the only gimme win.

In the upcoming Cal/Oregon game, Cal is an early 3 point favorite, due to the home field advantage. The 2-5 spots in the Pac-10 are incredibly even at this point. And with Oregon going on the road for their 2 toughest games remaining, things won't be easy.

As far as this week's power poll, I'm moving up Oregon, not because of the margin of the ASU game, but because of the progress that was seen. Also, at this point, all road wins in the Pac-10 are important, as most teams have been terrible on the road. Also, power polls are measures of who would win on a neutral field, so I am not taking future schedule into account on this.

  1. USC
  2. Oregon
  3. OSU
  4. Cal
  5. Arizona
  6. Stanford
  7. UCLA
  8. Arizona State
  9. Washington
  10. Washington State

As far as the rest of college football goes...there are a top group of teams, and the entire rest of the nation is a complete mess.

Full ballot after the jump...

In the top 10, the Big 12 is very good this year. I think that Okie State is for real, and Texas Tech was impressive on the road. Oklahoma is strong, but their defense has been disappointing.

But beyond the Top 10, who the hell knows. I still don't think that Utah or BSU deserve to be much higher than top 15, but all other teams in contention have 2 losses, including bad ones, or are another mid major team playing a crappy schedule.

So, I have no clue what to do with many of these teams. If you have some ideas, leave them in the comments.
