In keeping with the Holiday Season, I would like to present a series called "The 12 Days of Duckmas", counting down 12 of the best moments from Oregon Duck Athletics in 2008. This isn't meant to be a comprehensive list by any means and is certainly not in order of importance. If anything is left out, the 13th day will be for finishing up the leftovers, taking back the unwanted gifts and spending those giftcards.
Now remember to sing along now...
On the 5th day of Duckmas, UO Donors gave to me...
an amazing addition to the Eugene community and Oregon Athletics Even though Phil Knight gets most of the credit for breaking ground on the Matthew Knight Arena, the entire project is the work of many folks dedicating their time and energy (and finances as well) to help Oregon Athletics add to their amazing facilities resume. This year, we all saw that dream realized as all the obstacles were removed and we will see the arena opened in 2011. Oregon also launched a new website at godunks.net to help follow the event as it unfolds. On a side note, this construction project is not only huge for the University of Oregon but helps out a local economy hit hard with job loss. It doesn't fix it of course, but should help ease some of the pain. |
