The Oregon men's basketball team continues to look for its first Pac-10 win this weekend with a homestand against the Washington schools. The Ducks (6-10 overall, 0-4 Pac-10) are coming off a sweep by the Arizona schools, including an 76-58 drubbing by ASU that resulted in a bit of drama.
First up are the Huskies, led by senior Jon Brockman's 16.2 PPG (6th in the Pac-10) and 10.9 RPG (2nd in the conference). Pac-10 Freshman of the Year frontrunner Isaiah Thomas (no, not that Isaiah Thomas) has been a pleasant surprise in the first half of the season, leading all Pac-10 freshmen in points (15.7 PPG) and assists (3.2 APG).
The Ducks will try to keep the wheels on by revitalizing its season with a win over arguably their biggest rival. Junior Tajuan Porter leads the Ducks with 13.4 PPG and is ninth in the conference in steals (1.4), second in free-throw percentage (92.9%) and fourth in three-pointers made per game (2.1).
This game gives Oregon an opportunity to pull the E-brake on a season that's seemingly spinning out of control. A home win against our biggest rival would be a nice way to kick start an otherwise abysmal year.
