UO Softball coach Kathy Arendsen was apparently told during a meeting with Pat Kilkenny on Monday that her contract would not be renewed after Oregon's worst season in 25 years. From her statements in the story, she seemed genuinely surprised that her contract wasn't renewed. Oregon was 16-34 overall, 3-15 in Pac-10 play. Arendsen was the winningest coach in school history but 2009 was a huge dropoff from 2008...to the tune of a 19 game swing.
