Quack Fix: ASU Sun Devils Pay Last Visit To Mac Court; It's Indoor Track Season!

It's game day in Eugene as another hoops weekend gets underway tonight. This week it's the Arizona schools visit the Oregon schools. Regardless of the early standings, it's hard for me to imagine the Ducks are favored to win either of these games. They need to get at least one. Anyways...here's your morning fix.

  • GoDucks.com has the official preview for the upcoming men's basketball games. It's ASU at 5:30 p.m. tonight (TV via Comcast SportsNet with Joe G and Rob Closs), then Arizona at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (TV via FSN with Ron Thulin and Miles Simon).
  • R-G's Bob Clark writes that the Oregon men need to find consistency and confidence to remain competitive the remainder of the season. I might argue then need to also find the bottom of the net a bit more frequently. Clark adds a nice touch with some highlights of Oregon v. ASU in Mac Court over the years.
  • John Hunt: Previewing the ASU Sun Devils, who, like most teams in the Pac-10 this season are quite the enigma. I'm guessing we'll see a preview from dvieira later today. Also come back tonight and check out the open game thread. Join fellow ATQers in a two-hour session of teeth gnashing and hair pulling. Or, maybe, a pleasant surprise of foolhardy jubilation followed by rekindled overblown expectations of something above mediocrity.
  • The Oregon women will be looking to end a long dry spell in the desert.
  • Adam Schneider of eDuck Sports (via Scout.com) has a post-decade review and names some top Oregon track athletes from the 2000s. You'll see familiar names sprinkled in, including Samie Parker and Jordan Kent.
  • Andrew Wheating leads the Oregon men's indoor track team into another season, this time as defending national champions. His recovery from a rash of injuries will be key. The women are also into the title discussion, and are currently ranked second behind 2009 champion Texas A&M.
  • Just a reminder, the NCAA track and field championships will be held at Hayward Field June 9-12. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 22.
  • WTF? Quack Fix with no football. Yeah, I'm a little bummed too. If you can find something good please share. We'd all like to read something that doesn't include the word "Kiffin" in the lead paragraph. Big recruiting news on the horizon...?
