We have reached the final week of spring practices. After Saturday, it will only be a few short months until fall camp starts!
- John Hunt takes a look at the incoming receivers and whether any of them will step up and make an immediate impact this year. Of the four newcomers (Devon Blackmon, Rashaan Vaughn, Tacoi Sumler and B.J. Kelley), Hunt tabs Vaughn as the most likely to contribute and notes that he has already been calling Darron Thomas and "picking his brain."
- The Ducks began their last week of spring practice on Monday and Moseley, Hunt and Courtney all have practice reports from yesterday. Rob also has what he thinks will be the two teams for the Spring Game. And, all three recaps highlight LaMichael James running over Avery Patterson for a touchdown.
- Moseley has an article on new defensive intern Todd Lyght. While Lyght is relatively new to coaching, he definitely has the football background as a two time All-American DB at Notre Dame and a former first round pick and 12-year NFL veteran.
- Ted Miller had a couple of Oregon-related posts yesterday. First, Miller notes which conference teams boast returning quarterbacks who threw for at least 2,300 yards. Ted also recaps College Football Live's top 25, which has three conference teams: #3 Oregon, #7 Stanford and #25 Arizona State. Also of note: #4 LSU.
- Finally, the women's golf team received a bid for the NCAA West Regional, marking the fourth straight year the team has reached the postseason. The Ducks are seeded 11th in the 24-team region, with the eight lowest-scoring teams advancing to the NCAA Championships. Last year, the Ducks were also seeded at #11 in their region and ended up tied for sixth and earning a trip to the championships.
After the jump, there's a video of Chip Kelly discussing the latest practice.
Go Ducks!
