Media Wednesday: NFL draft memories with Joey Harrington

With the NFL draft upon us, let's take a trip down memory lane, and remember one of Oregon's highest draft choices, Joey Harrington. Joey had been spectacular at Oregon, and was picked 3rd in 2002. Unfortunately, he ended up not making an impact in the NFL, and was most definitely not helped by going to the Lions, and that sealed his fate as an NFL QB. Joey joined Akili Smith as the second highest drafted Duck of all time. George Shaw is still the only Duck to be drafted #1, and that was in 1955.

Joey is one of the few Ducks I really followed in the NFL. Though his career didn't work out like we'd hoped, it's fun to look back at his draft, and see it as a confirmation of his college excellence. GO DUCKS!
