Quack Fix: Football Goes Bowling... for Real, Softball Awards, Baseball Gets a Sweep

Your quack is here.

  • Back to back shutouts for the baseball team and we aren't talking about losses! The Ducks get a win over Gonzaga 9-0 to take a two-game series sweep from the Zags. The win puts Oregon at 28-24-1 on the year with 7 games remaining. Next up will be Washington State in Pullman with a 3 game series with the Cougars. Outside chance at the post-season or is our run too little, too late?
  • It wasn't that long ago that Softball was struggling through hard times. All that seems to be forgotten and the awards have come piling in with 8 Ducks being selected to All-Pac10 teams.
  • What are Chip's plans this summer? At least one guy thinks he has to be even better than what he was last year if the Ducks want to make through the conference in 2011. I'm not sure I agree. I think Chip has to keep doing what he's doing which is put the team in positions to win and make plays. I don't think he has to "step up" or anything like that. The pressure is on the other teams to figure us out.
  • In other football news, the Duck football team will participate in a bowling tournament on June 4th to benefit the family of fallen Eugene police officer Chris Kilcullen. There will be 24 teams with each team having a 5th bowler in the form of a player of coach. Here's a link to the registration form if interested.
