Quack Fix: Ducks are Confident, Kellen Clemens, and a National Title Prediction

Guess what! I've got a fever... and the only prescription... is more quack!

  • Some are saying that the Ducks have every reason to be confident going into the season. New league, new expectations, a lot of talent coming back. Looking out at the conference landscape, I do like Oregon's chances to become the first ever Pac-12 champions but there could be a darkside with a potential 0-2 start to the season. The chances of going undefeated in back-to-back years is unlikely at best but you have to like the pieces that are coming back.
  • If you can get past the typical "battling the off-season distractions and scandals" tone to this article, you can find some good Kelly quotes talking about the team and the talent they have this year at various positions.
  • In Duck Alumni news, former UO quarterback Kellen Clemens has agreed to terms with the remade Washington Redskins.. If you remember, Kellen was the final pick selected in the ATQ Oregon Football All-Time Draft. The article notes that he probably won't compete for the starting job but will act as a serviceable backup to John Beck and Rex Grossman.
  • You want to talk about lofty expectations, our friends over at the SB Nation Blog "I Am the 12th Man" have predicted that Oregon will win the national title next year over Alabama.

That's it for the quack. Have a great weekend.
