College football rankings: Oregon holds at #2; Florida, Kansas State, and Notre Dame round out top five

Oregon State, USC, and Stanford are also in both polls, while Arizona State makes an appearance in the Coaches' Poll

Alabama and Oregon held steady as #1 and #2 in both polls as the new college football rankings were released this morning. Florida, Kansas State, and Notre Dame round out the top five, with Kansas State holding down the third spot in the coaches' poll, and Florida getting the nod in the AP.

Oregon State sits at #8 in the AP poll, behind one-loss LSU and Ohio State. The Beavers are only up to #11 in the Coaches' Poll, where Ohio State isn't even eligible, behind five one-loss teams, including #9 USC, which is almost unjustifiable if you look at the two resumes right now. In fact, the Beavers' resume is strikingly Notre Dame-like.

South Carolina toppled to #9 in the AP, while West Virginia fell all the way to #17 after getting waxed in Lubbock.

USC is #11 in the AP, while Stanford stays in at #22. The Coaches' has Stanford at #23 and Arizona State at #24.
