Marcus Mariota: We collectively cringed when Will Sutton caused a fumble on the second play of the game. We put our heads in our hands when Arizona State threw that touchdown pass. Over the next 19 minutes, our collective minds were put at ease. While Marcus didn't have amazing numbers throwing the ball (9/12 for 46 yards, 1 TD), it was his work in running game and decision making that highlighted his day. He ran for 135 yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. Don't forget that he also had a receiving touchdown on the Bryan Bennett "hook shot". The Flyin' Hawaiian's legend continues to grow. Kenjon Barner: While some are claiming that he's got an outside chance at the Heisman Trophy, I'm betting he needs to average around 190 yards a game over the last half of the season to put his stats in range for consideration. That being said, I'll take a 16 carry, 143 yard performance any day of the week, most often on Saturdays. He also went for 3 touchdowns and had a backbreaking 71-yard run at the beginning of the game to take the wind out of the Arizona St. Sun Devils. Elevator: Up 1 Floor
Avery Patterson: There were a lot of questions regarding the secondary and how it would cope with the loss of John Boyett. Patterson has stepped up to fill that void and then some. He has interceptions in his last three games and was just a few yards away from getting the Pick-6 Consecutive Game Hat Trick. If you are picking a defensive MVP for the last 3 games, you have to strongly consider Avery Patterson in that group. Elevator: Up 3 Floors
Sam Kamp's Family: You snuck out into the darkness of night and climbed the hill. You brought with you the green paint and supplies. You painted the Arizona State "A" green for all the world to see and even though it was repainted black just a few hours later, you fired the warning shot that would eventually signal an Oregon Ducks thrashing of Arizona State. You claimed the hill in the morning; the football team claimed it at night. Bravo. Elevator: In the Penthouse
Jim Moore: He's got the women's volleyball team off to an 18-1 record overall and a 9-1 record in the Pac-12 after sweeping the Arizona schools last weekend. The team is exciting and playing at an amazing level in the best conference for women's volleyball in the nation. The volleyball team may be one of the best kept secrets on campus.
